Windhor.se is seeking to create a small family of commercial drone's to serve the emergency first responder, disaster response and humanitarian aide markets in the US and globally. The products will use industry standard software and components where possible, but will have design characteristics making rapid and flexible transport and deployment a priority. We are seeking the design of a fixed wing family (3 models based on similar designs) to be used for this application. The design should be flight capable with battery powered flight propulsion and systems. Additional specifications provided below. The submission should be concept drawings in your chosen form delivered in PDF or JPG images, the best of which will advance to a following request for 3D (Solidworks) rendering of the selected design. The design does not need to incorporate software or control systems, however, consideration should be given to internal controls and battery for proper scale thickness. You only need to design the basic model form (sizing details and requirements will be added later), not all three sizes - but the design must scale down to 2' and up to 6' wingspan. Design perspective should be from the top, bottom, front, back with dimensions noted. We are seeking novel design concepts - please do not create designs based on fixed wing drone photos from the internet or other sources. We are seeking novel flight worthy concepts that can be taken to the next phases of design and 3D rendering. Design characteristics: Model 1 - 2' wing span (.6 meter span), onboard camera and single sensor, no load, 1-1.5 hour flight time on single charge Model 2 - 4' (1.2 meter span), onboard camera, multi sensor, gimbal capable, <1 kg load, 1-2 hour flight time on single charge Model 3- 6' (1.8 meter span), onboard camera, multi sensor, 2-3 kg load, 1-3 hour flight time on single charge - Fixed wing design (single, flat wing - shape can be curved, v or hybrid - Carbon fiber construction - Vertical takeoff and landing, with transition to horizontal flight - Common components shared across each model - To serve the markets mentioned above, portability is a key design factor. Wings should be separable from the body for transport storage. The hard shell transport storage case should have space for the wings and core, additional battery and charging unit. Extra consideration will be given to submissions that have an accompanying case design. Corporate team submissions are welcome, especially if the entity has complete design and manufacture capability. Location is flexible for manufacturing. Selection does not guaranty future use of services. The winning design will be for the exclusive use of Windhor.se/Omvestments LLC. The designer forgoes all rights to the design upon submission.
